Sneak Peek Alert....

It's almost ONE month before CHA Summer. I have to contain myself with the goodness and excitement that I have. It's going to be BIG BIG BIG. I held back products at my Winter release to debut NOW. I just felt it was the right thing. Soon you will see what I have been up too-

I decided to share a visual (a sneak) of my WORKSHOP that I will be teaching the night prior to CHA and in Seattle at the Ben Franklin store. So you have two chances to take this workshop- the class is called CELEBRATE...

That is all I am going to say for now... but it's full of COLOR, FUN and you know me...meaning.

Fabric Flowers- As Seen on Good Things Utah

Teresa will be on Good Things Utah Channel 4 TV today at 10:00 am showing how to make Fabric Flowers. Fabric flowers are such a simple way to add flair to any project, necklace, or headband.

Here are some step by step instructions to make your own fabric flower:

 Teresa's GTU video will be added to our blog later today for those of you outside of the viewing area.  Don't forget to watch for it and now go and make some fabric flowers!!!!

          

Welcome home box

Linda Cain is so amazing!  Using the Welcome Home Collection she has created a beautiful box.

Linda THANK YOU so much for sharing your talents with us this month.  You have inspired us with your work.

 

It was nice to see the WH chipboard elements used on the box to give dimension. The flowers were the perfect addition. This could be the perfect solution to hold family photos or maybe your home keys.

We are so excited to share our special guest artist for June with you.

Hi, I’m Linda Cain! I originally started out as a Watercolor Artist, but after a friend introduced me to stamps and inks, I was hooked! Paper and Mixed-Media Altered Arts have become my passion, but teaching is even more satisfying than I could have ever imagined. I live in the ever-changing Midwest and have traveled from Illinois to Missouri and Iowa to teach classes. I’ve been lucky enough to have been asked to serve on several Design Teams, and been blessed to have been published in Cloth Paper Scissors, Bead Trends, Stamper’s Sampler, Altered Arts, ISABA Altered Words, and Artella. I dabble in anything from Beads, to Metal, to Paint, and Photography, with the goal of combining them all into a work of ART. You can visit my blog Friends in ART and find that I truly believe “there is nothing more fun than having Friends that love ART.”

She used the Welcome home collection to create an amazing accordion book.

FABRIC FLOWERS

Today, we challenge YOU to "think outside the box" as you create. 

DT member Cheri created this beautiful layout about her daughter and reminds you that Chic Bebe Boy is a perfect line to create anything, especially about a "chic"...GIRL!

 
Here are some tips for you to create a layout similar to Cheri's:

• Use the bracket chipboard cover as template for picture base on top of the ledger paper.Cut frame with leopard paper and inked.
•  Cut strips from notes paper for flower with decorative scissors and inked edges. Flower from Teresa’s flower tutorial.
• Inked the “She” element and used stickles, punched hole for jump ring.
• Inked and stickled the crown added whole, attached the T-drop. Inked the “this is you” & “beautiful you”.

Here is a close up on the embellishment that Cheri created using the Chipboard Elements.  Notice that they are blue?  Easy to do..just add ink to match your layout!

Notice a little sparkle? Cheri used stickles and glitter to add a subtle sparkle....beautiful!

It's a 5" x 10" Girl....

One of our blog readers, Cathy, sent us photos of a beautiful baby book she created and we wanted YOU to see it & inspire YOU with what she did and how she did it so that you could create one for yourself or as a gift..

Cathy started with Black Chipboard pieces measuring 10 1/2 W x 5 1/2 H  and instead of creating this book vertically, she turned it over on its side.

The cover and each page of the book were created by mixing and matching sizes of the patterned papers from the Chic Bebe Girl line and then Cathy added elements and chipboard embellishments from the Welcome Home Line as well as a "monthly calendar" to document babies milestones and growth through the first year...and a little BLING, of course!

  
 
In addition to the monthly pages, there are several pages created to highlight special photos and journaling by using the tags and quotes from the line.

 
Cathy completed the book by adding binding to the left hand side edge and covered the back of the book

Getting Ready for Travels...or more!

Stephanie has taken strips,scraps and pieces of Travel Ledger and adhered them to the front and back covers of a three ring binder that will hold all of her travel documents, journaling, photos and memories of the traveling she will do throughout 2010.

Inside the binder, Steph has filled the binder with several "blank" pages created from the "Welcome Home" and "Mr. & Mrs." collections.  She added pockets, envelopes, tags and clear page protectors   ready to be filled as the trips occur...

 
This book is larger in size, but still small enough to take along with you as you travel to serve as a journal and to hold all of those documents and momento's...and even a great place to make a list of the things to pack and remember prior to departing!

This "format" is also a great way to use"Chic Bebe Boy" orGirl for an expectant mom, maybe use "Mr. & Mrs." to create a "Wedding Planner Binder" or use "Welcome Home" to create a binder to  document your first home or create this book for new homeowners to document the journey of being homeowners...Once again, the possibilities are endless!
