The detail, beauty and technique, not to mention your overwhelming response to Monday's post causes us to take a CLOSER look at the "nuts and bolts" of Camille's beautiful album using Chic Bebe Boy.
Start with the Chic Bebe Boy Bracket chipboard cover (BB1015) and ink edges, if desired.
Adhere a strip of Leopard Paper (BB1001) to the center of your cover measuring approx. 5" x 9 1/2" . Trim edges and distress for an aged "shabby" look.
In-between the leopard and the next strip of paper, Camille added a rough cut piece of tulle for added texture.
Adhere a strip of Royalty Paper (BB1006) measuring approx. 3" x 9 1/2" on top of the tulle using a heavy adhesive, like Modge Podge.
Trim and then sand off edges to get a "shabby" distressed look and ink edges if desired.
Create a "paper ruffle" using a thin strip of the white with tiny blue dot (reverse side of "Fleur De Lis" BB1009) and Modge Podge. Use your thumb and pointer finger to "manipulate" and pinch the moist paper into a ruffle approx. 1/2" below the center leopard strip.
To create the center heart & wing embellishment, start by rough cutting a large, medium and smaller heart in coordinating patterned paper. Also cut an extra large heart from transparency..yes, look close at the photos...see that red marker line underneath the largest heart??? It is a line roughly drawn in the shape of a heart onto the Circle Transparency (BB1012) and cut out.
Distress and ink edges of the hearts and layer them together. Add a little piece of tulle in-between one og those layers to add a little extra texture and finish by adding a little button with a coordinating color thread. Set aside.
Here is how Camille created the wings:
"I start by creating a wire "wing" outline with 22 gauge wire then added in the veins with about 27 gauge wire.
For this pair of wings, I "modged podged" with tissue paper, and then wax paper (thinking I would be able to remove the wax paper.. not so...) nevertheless, they are a little thicker than I would like, but still pretty. I then glittered them, and used a metal file to expose some of the wire.
Here's my favorite tip for working with wire. Draw your shape on paper and then use it as a comparison guide when bending."
Once wings are complete, you can adhere them the the center of your cover with adhesive. Layer on the hearts and embellish with a chipboard crown (BB1010) and a rhinestone..or two!
Continue to complete your cover by adding a title made with sticker letters( BB1016) and an additional "scrap strip" to the lower edge.
Punch some holes, add book rings, ribbons and YOU have a beautiful book to hold your treasures!!!
so, are you inspired??? ME TOO!!!!
So, what you have created??? We currently have our first Monthly Challenge "New Beginnings" in full swing and would LOVE to have you send us a submission. You can read this post for all of the details!
Have a creative filled day!
